Write a Letter-To-The-Editor

Medicaid expansion could provide health insurance to as many as 400,000 uninsured Virginians. It could create nearly 30,000 Virginia jobs. It will save the state money. We want to share these messages throughout the commonwealth – and we need your help.

Please submit a letter-to-the-editor in favor of Medicaid expansion to your local paper or other papers throughout the state.

Tips for Writing an Effective LTE

Keep it short and simple. Most LTEs are under 200 words. Get right to the point, back it up, and conclude your argument

Reference a previous article. Your LTE is more likely to be printed if it referenced a recent article, op-ed, or editorial.

Share your expertise. If you are a health care expert, say so! Share your qualifications with the reader.
